SCROLL DOWN
Incorporated by Henry VIII on 20 May 1514, the Corporation of Trinity House is a charity dedicated to safeguarding shipping and seafarers, providing education, support and welfare to the seafaring community. It also has a statutory duty as a General Lighthouse Authority to deliver a reliable, efficient and cost-effective aids to navigation service for the benefit and safety of all mariners.
Trinity House operates the Merchant Navy Scholarship Scheme (MNSS) to provide financial support for young people seeking careers as officers in the Merchant Navy.
The great advantage of undertaking a Trinity House cadetship is the opportunity to train aboard a variety of ship types during your sea training periods and so gain enormous benefits from broader exposure and experience at an early stage.
There are excellent maritime career opportunities at sea and ashore for young people who can meet the minimum academic requirements and have a practical and enthusiastic approach to life.
A career at sea in the Merchant Navy is one of the most satisfying and worthwhile occupations it is possible to have. From the start, you will learn to stand on your own two feet, experience early responsibility, work with the latest technology, meet like-minded people from different nationalities, see the world and be well paid for doing so.

We are currently taking applications for the Corporation of Trinity House’s cadet intakes each January and September.
Applicants must be EEA nationals and resident in the UK for a year prior to starting training.Â
Once you are ready to apply for a cadetship, please email your application letter and Curriculum Vitae (CV) to us at [email protected], stating that you are interested in a Trinity House cadetship and confirming your preferred training discipline (i.e. Deck Cadetship, Engineer Cadetship or METO Cadetship).
