Principal Hotel Roles

 

The principal hotel roles within a ship’s Hotel department aboard a cruse ship or ferry can be summarised as follows:

Hotel Director (or Chief Purser)

The Hotel Director (also known as the Chief Purser) has overall responsibility for the smooth and effective running of the Hotel department aboard a cruise ship of ferry.

This includes oversight of the main sub-departments, which include:

  • Guest Services
  • Catering and Hospitality
  • Hotel Administration
  • Hotel Management
