To become a Hotel Trainee with a ferry company or cruise line, you will typically already have hotel working experience and hold or be undertaking suitable hospitality qualifications before being enrolled on an appropriate onboard development programme to prepare you for working in a passenger ship’s Hotel (or Purser’s) department.
The Hotel department is the centre of hotel operations onboard ferries and cruise lines and has responsibility for delivering an extensive range of high-quality hotel, catering, hospitality and support services to the passengers (guests) and crew. Â
