Engineer Cadet training programmes can vary considerably between the different nautical colleges.
However, our examples below of typical training programmes and their associated programme schematics will give you a clearer understanding of how your training may be delivered, both at college and at sea.

The HND and FD training programmes also offer an opportunity to advance your academic qualifications to Honours Degree level, by undertaking a top-up programme at an appropriate time for you after the conclusion of your cadetship.

Once you are ready to apply for a cadetship, please email your application letter and Curriculum Vitae (CV) to us at [email protected] and confirm your preferred training discipline (i.e. Deck Cadetship, Engineer Cadetship, METO Cadetship or Hotel Trainee).
In addition, there is an alternative training programme for those new entrants who already hold engineering qualifications recognised by the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA), or have completed a suitable engineering apprenticeship. Â
